What You Should Know About Camera Gear

Before diving into the specifics of what I use, here’s an important reminder: It’s not about the gear. Upgrading to a fancy camera won’t magically make your photos or videos better if you don’t know how to use it.

While having quality equipment helps, the key to capturing stunning content lies in understanding the fundamentals of photography and videography—like lighting, composition, settings, and editing. A good camera is only as effective as the person using it.

If you're considering an upgrade, make sure you're ready to maximize its potential. Think of it as an investment in your craft and business, not just a shiny new gadget.

With that said, here’s a rundown of what’s currently in my camera bag, how I use each item, and what makes them special.

My Drone: DJI Air 3S Fly More Combo

Drones are a game-changer for storytelling, adding cinematic aerial shots to your videos. I use the DJI Air 3S, which is incredibly reliable with excellent image quality, even in low light. The Sony FX3 is my go-to camera for cinematic video. Designed for creators, this full-frame cinema camera excels in low-light situations and offers incredible dynamic range. With its lightweight build and professional features, it’s a powerhouse for both travel and studio work.
