In this post I share everything about the camera gear and software programs that I use to create content. I did a lot of research before purchasing my camera gear, and I absolutely love it. You’ll learn about my photography/videography equipment, what accessories I use including lenses and tripods, and all the software programs I use or recommend! I hope this helps! If you’d like to see more of my photos and adventures, check out my Instagram
What you should know about equipment
It is not about the equipment you buy. Your pictures will not turn out better once you upgrade your camera. A good camera matters of course but you need to know how to use it. Otherwise, it might hurt more than help. Photography is so much more than clicking the button on automatic mode. You have to keep in mind that the quality of your picture has everything to do with the right settings, lightening, compositing, editing, etc. If you are thinking about buying a new camera with the hope that your pictures will improve, you shouldn’t make the big investment before you’re ready to make the most out of your upgrade. A good camera is an investment to be made in your own business when you are ready for it.
Shooting with your phone
There are a few beautiful Instagram accounts out there who only shoot with their phones. You have to keep in mind that your smartphone can capture pictures that are good enough to post.
What equipment is in my camera bag?
Camera Body’s:
Sony A7iii: This camera is the newest member of my camera family. This is a mirrorless digital camera from Sony. It is a well rounded camera suitable for both photo and video.
Sony Zv-1 (vlog camera) The ZV-1 is designed for casual videography with a selfie-friendly vari-angle LCD screen, body grip and a recording lamp. This is the perfect vlog camera and that is why I use this one only for vlogging.
SonyA6000: I bought this camera a longer time ago but I am still totally in love with this camera. It is a small and lightweight camera and has great image quality. This is what makes this camera perfect for traveling.
Lenses
For travel photography I recommend to have zoom lenses in your camera bag. This can cover a much wider range of view than prime lenses. With zoom lenses you don’t have to change the lenses every time you want to make a different composition. If you want to invest in only one zoom lens, choose a wide angle lens! For a second lens you can choose a narrow one (35mm and above). This way you can create portrait shots or shots more focused on details.
E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS
This lens is the standard kit lens for the APS-C mirrorless camera line. It is great for travel, the zoom is one of the smallest and lightest you’ll find for any system. I’ve been shooting with this lens for more than 2 years and these are some of the shots I took with it:
Tamron Lens 28-75mm F / 2.8 Di III RXD For Sony Mirrorless
This lens is versatile wide-angle to portrait-length zoom characterized by it’s f/2.8 constant maximum aperture. I am still learning to shoot with it but I’ve been loving it so far. Here are some pictures I took with it.

Drones
I have the DJI mavic air 2 and I absolutely love it. I purchased the fly more combo which comes with
- 1 x N2 x Intelligent Flight Battery
- 3 x Low-Noise Propellers (Pair)
- 1 x ND Filters Set (ND16/64/256)
- 1 x BatteryCharging Hub
- 1 x Battery to Power Bank Adaptor
- 1 x Shoulder Bag
This drone has everything a drone needs: fast speed, high-res camera, long battery life, tremendous range and obstacle avoidance which all comes for a very affordable price. If you are planning to use it for social media only, a Mavic Mini would also be a very good choice. The Mavic Mini is powerful yet very compact.
FPV Drone
Not too long ago I bought the FPV drone. As opposed to the traditional method of drone piloting, wherein the pilot controls the aircraft from their perspective on the ground, FPV drones are piloted from the drone’s point of view. In other words, you’ll be flying the drone from the perspective of someone who is actually on board. This drone allows you to go in almost any direction possible, which can result in footage that is one of a kind.
Underwater camera/accessories
I use:
Gopro HERO 5 black & Gopro HERO 8 black
Tip: A GoPro Dome is a great accessory to have if you plan to do a lot of underwater work. They’re a great option for those looking to take epic 50/50 shots without breaking the bank. They are a cheap alternative to waterproof cases. ( I personally don’t have a dome yet but it is on the Wishlist )
AquaTech underwater Iphone housing
AquaTech developed great quality underwater Iphone housings. You can use the camera you know and love whether it’s a day at the beach, that dream fishing trip or a special snorkel tour on vacation. You definitely don’t need both a Gopro and this aquatech underwater Iphone housing. I just prefer to switch it up.
Laptop/desktop Software’s
For Editing Photos:
Lightroom:
Lightroom is an amazing editing software created by Adobe. I highly recommend using Lightroom Classic for desktop rather than the app version. When you first start to use the software it can feel overwhelming, once you get the hang of it, you will take your photos to the next level. In Lightroom you can easily edit your pictures without losing any quality. If you are a beginner in editing I suggest you start with presets. These are pre-made filters and editing settings. Once you use these presets you just need a few tweaks and clicks and your pictures are good to go. Lot’s of creators create beautiful preset packs. This allows you to buy as many presets as you want. You can search for creators who have a feed you like and buy their presets.
Photoshop:
Photoshop is another Abode software program. It is one of the most well-known photo editing software in the world. It is extremely powerful and has all the settings you need to edit pictures. However, Photoshop can be very overwhelming, especially when you are just beginning. For me; I only know a few tricks in Photoshop and I only use it when I want to do something I’m not able to by using Lightroom. So my tip is, first make yourself comfortable with Lightroom before you start to learn Photoshop. If you don’t have the basics down yet, it might scare you away for good!
Luminar
Luminar works as a standalone application and as a plugin for Adobe and Apple products. It integrates with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Lightroom Classic, and Photos for macOS. The application has filters, which can be used to edit images. The effects can be combined using layers and masks.
For editing videos:
Finding the best video editing software is essential, whether you’re a beginner, a YouTuber or a professional video editor. There is a huge range of confusingly titled software out there so it can be difficult to choose what’s the best to use. To help you out, I would strongly recommend using Adobe Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro
Final Cut Pro
For Apple users, Final Cut Pro is the best video editing software. With it’s modern Metal engine, Final Cut Pro allows you to edit more complex projects and work with larger frame sizes, higher frame rates, and more effects — all at high speeds. Final Cut Pro is a solid pick for professional video editors working today. Price $299.99 one time Adobe Premiere Pro I personally use Premiere Pro. It can be a bit difficult to learn, but it’s far more powerful than any other editing software. Final Cut Pro contains about any editing feature you might want, from keeping the color of your video crisp, to real-time frame resizing and curve adjustments. It is available for both PC and Mac users, this industry-standard software offers everything you need for professional video editing.
Price: $20.99 per month
See here the video that I made using Adobe Premiere Pro.
