My recommended accommodation in Berawa, Canggu
It can be a very difficult task to find a place to stay around Canggu area. There are so many options and so many areas. This is why I created this post about The Kamare in Berawa, Canggu. As someone who is living for almost 7 months in Canggu I think I can say I know a thing or two!
Canggu is a popular place in Bali where people of all ages and with all budgets come to live the Bali lifestyle, work as a digital nomad or to just hang out and enjoy some free time.
*Disclosure* – This whole article is based on my own experience and preferences.
Located at Gg. Semar No.5, Tibubeneng you will find The Kamare. This is the place where I stayed during my time in Berawa, Canggu and is in my opinion the best budget friendly accommodation in this area.
I have traveled a lot around Bali, but living in The Kamare really gives that ‘coming home’ feeling.
Where is The Kamare located?
The Kamare is located in Berawa, Canggu. Berawa area is a bit more quiet than the centre of Canggu, this makes it an ideal place to live.
- Milk & Madu Cafe (cozy hotspot with delicious food) – 4 min
- Pantai Berawa – 9 min
- Finns Beach Club (best beach club in town) – 8 min
- Good Mantra (amazing vegan food) – 5 min
- Dang Cookies (best cookies you’ll ever have) – 5 min
Why did I love it so much?
I loved staying at the Kamare a lot, and here are the reasons why:
During my stay the The Kamare I felt save from the first minute I moved in. The rooms are located at the end of a road with a parking spot in front of the building. Next to this road you have beautiful rice fields which offer a beautiful view.
Then, when you enter the building, you have to enter a digital code which will open the door. So, no one can enter the building without this code. also there is 24-hour security. Even in the middle of the night, there is always someone. There are security alarms, smoke alarms, CCTV in common areas, CCTV outside the property and Fire extinguishers.
2. SUPER FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF
There is 24/7 security which means there is always a staff member at the property who you can talk to. The longer you stay the better you get to know them and it will start to feel like home.
3. CHEAP PRICE
The place is relatively cheap. The prices for the rooms fluctuate between 4.5mio \ 5.5 mio IDR a month*. Which is between
– Euro 261,- / $ 320,-
– Dollar $ 261,- / $ 380,-
Typically, people spend between 2.5 mill (150 euro/ $174) and 10 mill (580 euro / $ 694) on accommodation a month. The 2.5 mill will get you a room in a villa and the 10 mill will get you a nice 2 bedroom villa with your own pool and garden.

There is two times cleaning a week. On Saturday you get new towels and sheets and on Wednesday there is normal cleaning.
5. SPACIOUS AND HIGH – QUALITY ROOMS
What I loved about the room is that there is a lot of light in the room, it is very spacious and it even has a desk to do some work. The size of the room is 25 m² and you have a private bathroom which I find very important. There is also a big TV with satellite channels, cable channels and Netflix!
